Need a gift for the Jane Austen enthusiast in your life? (Or the Darcy fanatic?)
Well, thank heaven, there’s no shortage of Jane Austen gifts. Her fan base is large and wide, and so is the vast selection of books, clothing, jewelry, gift boxes, and games that are made in her image.
You know, it’s a truth universally acknowledged that Jane Austen fans will swoon over anything that has her name on it (or one of her incisive quotes).
I had SO much fun making this list, and I hope you find the right gift for your beloved Janeite.

Jane Austen Crafts & Cookbooks
Combine your love of Jane Austen with your love of knitting, crochet, embroidery, or cooking. I’m a huge yarn crafter, so these hobby books are right up my alley. My happy place is when I’m listening to an audiobook while doing some kinda handy craft. (Not cooking, though, ha!)
- Pride & Preju-knits: 12 Genteel Knitting Projects Inspired by Jane Austen: You will be most accomplished if you can knit these adorable dolls.
- Austentatious Crochet: 36 Contemporary Designs from the World of Jane Austen: Girly and romantic!
- Embroider the World of Jane Austen: This set comes with everything you need to get started.
- Jane Austen’s Table: Recipes Inspired by the Works of Jane Austen: This is a gorgeous volume—I own it.

Jane Austen’s Collected Works
I own all of Jane Austen’s novels, but they’re tattered paperbacks from my college days—with the exception of a charming yet battered hardcopy of Persuasion. If you really want to impress your Austen devotee, spring for one of these gorgeous box sets.
But, what if you want to get just one novel, such as Pride and Prejudice or Emma? What is the best version you can buy? You can’t go wrong with Marjolein Bastin’s Classics Series. These deluxe editions include the full text of each novel, with rich illustrations throughout. PLUS, you’ll discover detailed ephemera tucked into the pages—letters, invitations, maps, family trees, and sheet music. It’s Jane Austen on steriods (in the very best way).
Austen-Inspired Books for Avid Readers
If you’ve got a Real Reader on your hands—someone who loves Jane Austen for her actual prose and not the screen versions of her stories—then I’ve got some amazing book recommendations to fill her shelves and her heart to bursting.
- Praying with Jane: 31 Days through the Prayers of Jane Austen by Rachel Dodge: Austen wrote novels, but she also penned many prayers for her family’s home devotionals. This book leads you through them in a month.
- Jane Austen at Home: A Biography by Lucy Worsley: If you’re longing to take a trip to England to see the places that Austen lived and visited, this book is the next best thing.
- Jane Austen: A Life by Claire Tomalin: A heartfelt and entertaining biography.
- Sense and Sensibility: A Guide to Reading and Reflecting by Karen Swallow Prior: Who better to guide you through one of Austen’s great novels than the one and only Christian literature prof KSP? This is perfect for fans who want to deep dive into the text.
- A Jane Austen Education: How Six Novels Taught Me About Love, Friendship, and the Things That Really Matter by William Deresiewicz: A dude’s memoir of how Austen’s works impacted his life.
- Jane Austen’s England: Daily Life in the Georgian and Regency Periods by Roy and Leslie Adkins: This excellent nonfic pick will help you understand the nuances and niceties of Austen’s novels.
- The Other Bennet Sister by Janice Hadlow: One of the best P&P spinoff novels I’ve ever read. In this novel, Mary Bennet takes center stage. It’s excellent on audio!
- The Clergyman’s Wife: A Pride and Prejudice Novel by Molly Greeley: A thoughtful and well-written P&P spinoff that imagines what happens to Charlotte Lucas after marrying Mr. Collins.
- Austenland by Shannon Hale: A silly, spicy read that Darcy devotees can’t resist. I haven’t seen the movie, but this book has to be better, haha.
